Online advertising
We use services to deliver internet advertising. Through the services we use, certain user data is collected via a cookie or pixel. This includes in particular the information about which website you came to our online presence from (so-called referrer), which pages of our online presence you accessed, how long you visited our pages and what interactions you carried out there. In addition, data on the browser, computer system and device type you use is collected. Such a service can also collect demographic information, e.g. age or gender, as pseudonymous values. If you have consented to the collection of your location data, depending on the provider, this may also be processed. To capture and store this data, the respective service places a cookie or so-called counting pixel on the device you use, with which the IP address assigned to you is also collected. However, this is shortened via a so-called IP-masking procedure so that the IP address can no longer be assigned to your visit on our website. In principle, no clear data such as names or email addresses is stored when using the respective service.
The data is evaluated by the service we use in order to compile a report with statistical statements about the number of visitors generated via the advertising and the success of the advertising measure. Among other things, the reports show the total number of users who were directed to our website via our ads. The reports also contain information about the user devices and browsers, where the users were located, when the ad was clicked. However, the reports do not contain any information that would allow you to be personally identified as a user of our site.
Please note that depending on the location of the service provider, the data collected via the service may be transmitted and processed outside the European Union area. In this case there is a risk that the level of data protection prescribed by the GDPR may not be observed and the enforcement of your rights may not be possible or only with difficulty.
Affected data:
- Usage data (e.g. access times, clicked pages)
- Communication data (e.g. information about the device used, IP address)
Affected persons: Users of our online services
Purpose of processing: Reach measurement, success monitoring of campaigns, remarketing as well as interest- and behaviour-based marketing
Legal basis: If we have asked you for your consent before the use of the respective service, this constitutes the legal basis, Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR. Otherwise, we use the respective service on the basis of our legitimate interest in directing visitor flows to our website and analysing these flows in order to continuously improve the functions, offers and user experience, Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR.
