Geltungsbereich & Hinweise zu den Add-ons

This privacy policy applies to the website gsimulations.com as well as for the add-ons offered for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

G-Sim Kneeboard

The Kneeboard processes data exclusively locally on the user computer. An additional local background service (Kneeboard server) provides documents and maps in the simulator. There is none transmission of personal data to G-Simulations servers. Optionally, map and VATSIM/IVAO station data is fetched from the respective third-party providers (OpenStreetMap, VATSIM, IVAO, open flightmaps); the privacy notices of the respective providers apply to the processing there.

MSFSVoiceWalker

MSFSVoiceWalker ist ein serverloser Proximity-Voice-Chat. Die Kommunikation zwischen Nutzern erfolgt direkt per Peer-to-Peer (WebRTC) innerhalb sogenannter Geohash-Meshes (ca. 20 km-Zellen). Es wird none central G-Simulations server that stores voice or metadata. For peer discovery the application uses eigener Web-Tracker (third party); they only see anonymous peer IDs and IP addresses at the connection level. The respective operators are responsible for their data processing. The optional auto-updater checks once daily the GitHub Releases API; this technically transmits the IP address of the computer to GitHub (provider: GitHub Inc.).

There is none registration, none account creation and none server-side storage of conversation or location data by G-Simulations. MSFSVoiceWalker is open source (Apache 2.0); the source code can be viewed on GitHub can be viewed.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies. Cookies are small text files consisting of a series of numbers and letters that are placed and stored on the device you use. Cookies primarily serve to exchange information between the device you use and our website. This includes, among other things, the language settings on a website, the login status or the position at which a video was watched.

When visiting our websites, two types of cookies are used:

  • Temporary cookies (session cookies): These store a so-called session ID, with which different requests from your browser can be assigned to the common session. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or close your browser.
  • Permanent cookies: Permanent cookies remain stored even after the browser is closed. This way our website recognises your computer when you return. These cookies store, for example, information about language settings or login data. Additionally, your browsing behaviour can be documented and stored with these cookies. This data can be used for statistics, marketing and personalisation purposes.

In addition to the above classification, cookies can also be distinguished according to their purpose:

  • Necessary cookies: These are cookies absolutely necessary for the operation of our website to store logins or shopping carts for the duration of your session, or cookies set for security reasons.

You have the option, via your browser security settings, to object to the use of cookies set in the context of our legitimate interest. There you have the option to determine whether you accept no cookies at all, only after request, or whether cookies should be deleted each time the browser is closed. If cookies are deactivated for our site, it may not be possible to use all functions of the site to their full extent.

Consent, Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR
If we ask you, before your visit to our website, for permission to set certain cookies on your device and you give consent, the legal basis is the consent given by you. We inform you within the consent which cookies we set in detail. If you do not give this consent, only the so-called technically necessary cookies are set, which are required for the proper operation of our websites and their display in your browser. If you have consented to the setting of cookies, you have the option at any time to revoke the consent given.

Online advertising

We use services to deliver internet advertising. Through the services we use, certain user data is collected via a cookie or pixel. This includes in particular the information about which website you came to our online presence from (so-called referrer), which pages of our online presence you accessed, how long you visited our pages and what interactions you carried out there. In addition, data on the browser, computer system and device type you use is collected. Such a service can also collect demographic information, e.g. age or gender, as pseudonymous values. If you have consented to the collection of your location data, depending on the provider, this may also be processed. To capture and store this data, the respective service places a cookie or so-called counting pixel on the device you use, with which the IP address assigned to you is also collected. However, this is shortened via a so-called IP-masking procedure so that the IP address can no longer be assigned to your visit on our website. In principle, no clear data such as names or email addresses is stored when using the respective service.

The data is evaluated by the service we use in order to compile a report with statistical statements about the number of visitors generated via the advertising and the success of the advertising measure. Among other things, the reports show the total number of users who were directed to our website via our ads. The reports also contain information about the user devices and browsers, where the users were located, when the ad was clicked. However, the reports do not contain any information that would allow you to be personally identified as a user of our site.

Please note that depending on the location of the service provider, the data collected via the service may be transmitted and processed outside the European Union area. In this case there is a risk that the level of data protection prescribed by the GDPR may not be observed and the enforcement of your rights may not be possible or only with difficulty.

Affected data:

  • Usage data (e.g. access times, clicked pages)
  • Communication data (e.g. information about the device used, IP address)

Affected persons: Users of our online services

Purpose of processing: Reach measurement, success monitoring of campaigns, remarketing as well as interest- and behaviour-based marketing

Legal basis: If we have asked you for your consent before the use of the respective service, this constitutes the legal basis, Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR. Otherwise, we use the respective service on the basis of our legitimate interest in directing visitor flows to our website and analysing these flows in order to continuously improve the functions, offers and user experience, Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR.

In order to be able to prove in case of doubt, even after your objection or revocation, that your consent existed, we may store your data for up to 4 years after your objection/revocation. We no longer use your data for further purposes after your objection/revocation. If you wish that we delete your data beforehand, we will do so after you have confirmed that you originally gave us consent.

Web analytics and statistics

To capture and statistically evaluate visitor flows on our online presence, we use web analytics services. Such services capture, among other things, data about which website you came from to our online presence (so-called referrer), which pages of our online presence you accessed, how long you visited our pages and what interactions you carried out there. In addition, data on the browser, computer system and device type you use is collected. Such a service can also collect demographic information, e.g. age or gender, as pseudonymous values. If you have consented to the collection of your location data, depending on the provider, this may also be processed.

To capture and store this data, the web analytics service we use generally places a cookie on the device you use, with which the IP address assigned to you is also collected. However, this is shortened via a so-called IP-masking procedure so that the IP address can no longer be assigned to your visit on our website. Otherwise, no clear data such as names or email addresses is stored. Neither we nor the service we use know the identity of the visitors to our websites.

Please note that depending on the location of the service provider mentioned below, the data collected via the service may be transmitted and processed outside the European Union area. We have embedded plugins in the form of „social media buttons“ from the providers we use on our website. You can recognise which plugin belongs to which provider by the respective logo with which the plugin is marked. Already at this point, a data transfer can take place even if you do not have an account with the respective social network operator or have an account there but are not logged in at the time of visiting our website. In addition, data is transferred to the provider as a result of further interactions with the respective social plugin (e.g. clicking the „Like“ button on Facebook, Re-Tweet button on Twitter).
